Barefoot and Paleo-meet the crew!

Barefoot Heidi was introduced to you last week. It's great to have a positive person to give a good image to barefooting's many real benefits. And it's great to have a woman as positive, energetic leader.

Almost Barefoot would like to introduce the rest of the crew from Barefoot and Paleo. I, personally, am barefoot an vegan, but I am compelled to recognize that long-term planetary sustainability requires the contributions of many people who have different perspectives.

While some differences exist between the vegan and paleo philosophy, there is a common bond evident here with Barefoot and Paleo, which makes frugality and sustainability high priorities of life. My compliments!

So, without further adieu, I'd like to introduce the rest of Heidi;s crew at Barefoot and Paleo-three more beautiful people who care about making our world a better place!

In the background is Barefoot Heidi (left) and her husband "Semi Barefoot" James, her ardent supporter who also works with Heide in the real estate and design business, and their sons, Barefoot Tynan and Barefoot Indio. They spend a lot of time outside and enjoy a diet of natural foods.

James explains how clean, natural eating, and the natural body detox that it provides people, changed his life, and that he lost 50 pounds over the course of a year by making the change, and he described his weight loss as "effortless".

A natural diet for our planet will help it be healthier, too. But that can only happen with our doing.

Thank you to Barefoot Heidi and her family, and Happy New Year to All!

A successful woman isn't defined by her shoes!

barefoot-and-paleo-ritz-carlton
Heidi goes barefoot for the Green Gala at the Ritz

Powerful women are frequently portrayed as women who wear high heels. But we should look beyond this.

OK. As a straight man, I really don't mind seeing a woman in heels, especially if she has chosen those shoes for herself and if she likes how she looks when wearing the and loves who she is.

I also know heels aren't "practical", but sometimes we humans need to have some impractical thing because they're fun. I like lots of things that aren't practical but which bring me enjoyment. And women still like to wear them for fun and because they like them with an outfit. More power to them!

I'm not picking on successful women who wear heels, either. But as women become increasingly successful, and more women achieve success, the definition of successful, empowered women becomes more diverse.

OK-I'll cut to the chase. A successful, empowered woman need not be defined by her shoes.
Heidi Fiscus is a business executive and design consultant who is successful and empowered in every way. She is VP of Marketing at Vireo Corp. IN Charlotte, NC Almost Barefoot has cyber adopted her as "Barefoot Heidi". And Heidi doesn't wear high heels even though she fits the definition of high-powered. In fact, she doesn't wear shoes at all. More power to her! She started going barefoot more often for health reasons and cured her own joint pain, and about five months ago, she decided to start going barefoot in public.

Heidi takes good care of her feet, keeps them clean and well-pedicured. In November, attended the Green Gala at the Ritz Carlton, complete with fancy dress-and no shoes. Well, she wore beautiful barefoot sandals-essentially ornaments that attach to your toes and ankles and provide ornate decoration for the feet while leaving the soles bare. Barefooting in public may be a bit of an oddity but in almost every case, it is not illegal.

You can read about barefooting in public at Barefoot and Paleo, the wonderful website we recently found where Heidi is one of a number of cool authors that Almost Barefoot will be introducing to you in our upcoming publications. Many of the alleged risks of barefooting in public are unsubstantiated. Rules are rules where they exist, so plan accordingly and don't start fights about it. Barefooters want to set positive examples if understanding of the benefits of barefooting anywhere is to increase.

Almost Barefoot encourages you to check out Barefoot and Paleo's many great publications, including Heidi's.

The barefoot woman is becoming a symbol of empowerment in our society today-and Almost Barefoot salutes Barefoot Heidi for helping make it happen!  It's often said that "the clothes don't make the man", and it's been said, today, that the shoes don't make the woman!

Empowered Woman and Barefooter Extraordinaire-meet Barefoot Heidi

Meet Barefoot Heidi, Barefooter Extraordinaire.....much more to come soon!

Heidi Fiscus: A successful executive, an attentive mother and a devoted wife...who does it all while always barefoot.

Almost Barefoot would like to introduce Heidi Fiscus, who will be known around here as Barefoot Heidi.

There are a lot of reasons why Heidi is our barefoot celebrity of focus now.

She’s an all-around cool person and an amazing woman.

Almost Barefoot strongly supports the empowerment of women and likes to profile strong, female role models who are successful, powerful and positive.

Heidi is all these things and more. She’s an entrepreneur, both businesswise and socially speaking, and she’s co-organizer of an awesome group of very positive barefooters who will be introduced on the Almost Barefoot site in the coming days.

Heidii also presents a very positive, constructive view of barefooting that is shared by her cohorts who will also be introduced soon!

Blessings!

Barefoot in Britain with Tracy Mercaldo Davenport

Almost Barefoot would like to introduce Tracy Mercaldo Davenport and the Barefoot Britain blog. Tracy is the UK distributor of Sockwa brand minimalist running shoes that are said to be excellent for those times when a runner can't be completely barefoot. Barefoot Britain is a fantastic running resource and Almost Barefoot will be adding a link. Barefoot runners in Britain have a great resource here.

Tracy Mercaldo Davenport.
I'm sure some of our British readers can tell me much more about it. But for Brits who want to run sans shoes and might be new to this most-awesome way to run, do check out this most-awesome blog that helps you find events, new barefoot trends, running routes, new products and much more. For established barefooters, it is just as useful. If I'm lucky enough to take a trip across the pond, I know where to read up on the latest goings on!

Thank you, Tracy!  And blessings to all our readers in Britain, and beyond!

New Barefoot Runner Says He's a New Man

How Paul kicked off his shoes and ran. I love these tales of first ever barefoot runs. Run Paul Run!
http://www.barefootbeginner.com/2013/12/03/i-kicked-off-my-shoes-and-i-ran-like-kicking-off-40-years-paul-beales/
Barefoot runner Paul Beales

Paul Beales had been running with shoes for 40 years. Then he decided to try running barefoot.

"I kicked off my shoes and I ran-like kicking off 40 years!"
Beales told the writers at Barefoot Beginner.
When it comes to barefoot running, I'm not exactly a beginner. I was fortunate enough to start four years ago when Michael Sandler was still teaching lessons in Colorado. At that time, I was as much a newbie to barefoot running as Michael's girlfriend, Jessica Lee. Micheal Married Jessica a year later and they have since published two books-Barefoot Running and Barefoot Walking. Jessica is president of the Runbare Company, one of the original barefoot running training resources in the US. I've had the privilege of attending almost all of their local lectures.

Jessie taught us both a lot about ourselves and offered a fresh perspective on what was soon to be rapidly-growing trend. Michael was already a very well-established professional athlete. I was an ex-third-stringer who had run high school track decades before and never knew I had any ability as a runner-until I took my shoes off. She outruns us both.
Michael Sandler and Jessica Lee-Sandler
No matter how much you know, there is more to learn. Barefoot Beginner is an excellent resource for runners looking to start barefooting, and also for experienced barefooters who seek fresh perspectives. It's important to hear what newbies have to say-their fresh perspective helps widen the tunnel vision that experience can create for someone set in certain ways.

Check out Barefoot Beginner for links to coaching, events and resources as well as new posts from regular contributors. Connect on Facebook and chat with members of the group!

Barefoot in Poland

I'm still looking for good stuff to report about barefooting in Poland.

Certainly, barefoot running is well established there. This past May, a barefoot 10K was held in the famed Polish capital of Warsaw, on May 5-Interantional Barefoot Running Day, to be exact.

There were positive comments about the event, but not too much was said.

Barefoot models are plentiful and photographed in good taste, as we can see from the photo below by Alksander Kurganov although "Kurga"as the photographer calls himself, is based in Russia, so we ca't verify if this shot came from Russia or Poland.girl in red dress walk barefoot on empty road Stock Photo - 7494115 We encountered an ad by the popular shoe maker Mizuno that is aimed at a Polish audience which hits the popular points of ht barefoot running debate, such as fear of broken glass and splinters and the need to change one's stride once the running shoes come off and the runner starts to run naturally.

Mizuno makes quite a few different shoes, most of which are of the typical design, with a thick, padded heel and a sole shaped like a banana. Famous barefoot runner Michael Sandler, author of Barefoot Running and Barefoot Walking (co-authored by Jessica Lee-Sandler) says 75% of shoe buyers are unsatisfied with this typical design, regardless of the maker.

Michael Sandler with Jessica Lee-Sandler
Sandler said that shoe company marketing representatives blatantly admitted to him that they are fully aware that 75% of their customers are unsatisfied with the current design of most running shoes. Sander is rather critical of the current attempts by most shoe companies to make barefoot running shoes, but then again, Sandler is the ultimate barefooter-when he's not running his usual 100 miles a week sans shoes, he's going barefoot wherever else he is going and so is his barefoot running wife, Jessica.

Barefoot living-new stuff we found from Germany

Living barefoot means different things-for those who aren't doing it for lack of shoes, it seems most favored in Germany and in central Europe. Almost Barefoot's latest stats show visits from Poland have increase five fold. Our German readership also remains strong.

There will be more to come about living barefoot in Poland, and what barefoot living means to Poland's remarkably resilient culture that was first to flush communism out of Europe; I fondly remember that day-news of Soviet officials who called Mikhail Gorbachev and asked what they should do about Poland and it's intent to break connection with the USSR-and he told them: [do] "nothing". It was a done deal.

And I remember watching, with exuberance, as the people of Germany started tearing down the Berlin Wall with sledge hammers, and reading how East Germans ran from their cars-left running for anyone to take as the border opened. Soon after, there was no more East Germany and West Germany-one country's aweful separation had finally begun to heal.

Maybe the people of both cultures dig barefooting because they really love their freedom. I'm not sure. I just know I'm grateful to their readers for stopping by and for the contributions they are making to barefoot fitness that can help us heal the injuries that come from our cultural bad habits that constrain us despite our freedom!

But I promise, I'll step-barefoot-OFF of my soap box and get back to business!

Almost Barefoot would like to introduce a German barefooter who because a recent connection-Burkhard Reinberg, His website, Barfuss Trend is celebrating its tenth-year anniversary and it is yet another great resource for barefooters who seek to learn more, and for those runners who are still in shoes but are barefoot curious. The website is posted in German, but translates easily on most PCs.

Add caption
Barefoot running has found a permanent niche in the global running community. It is debatable whether shoes manufacturers and the rest of the established world will make barefoot running remain a niche as opposed to the preferred approach for future runners. But barefoot living, or living Almost Barefoot is more than barefoot running.
Burkhard Reinberg
Burkhard Reinberg
Burkhard Reinberg's book, "BigFoot", which he published in 2011, emphasizes working out barefoot for health in general. I is well known that exercising barefoot increases blood circulation in the feet and helps keep the feet from getting cold-the net result is better blood flow through the legs and better circulation in the whole body.

Barefoot workouts are all about allowing the natural bio-mechanics of the body to function and that makes the body function better-properly may be a much better word here. Burkhard is active in fitness training in Germany where barefoot training, also known increasingly as "natural fitness" of all types is becoming ever more popular.
Burkhard Reinberg himself suffered from numerous foot issues that plague the western world and cause sever back issues and other, numerous injuries. He helped coin the term "natural fitness" by establishing a company by the same name in 2010. The Natural Fitness approach also pays attention to diet, self-hypnosis and more. Check out the website for lots of great information and remember to have barefoot time even as winter is setting in.

Auf Wiedersehen!  ..........und Blessings!

Barefoot running in Malaysia

Hello, everyone.......and......Hello Malaysian Readers!

We're getting lots of traffic from Malaysia and we're looking forward to learning more about going barefoot in Malaysia, barefoot running in Malaysia and learning more from the people there.

It appears barefoot running is pretty popular in Malaysia and we'd love to hear feedback from runners there.

Jason Thai is a resident of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, and he's avid runner. His name came up in a web search on barefooting in Malaysia, but we've yet to see him without shoes.

We know two things: barefoot running seems quite welcome in Malaysia, and the sport of running is very, very popular there among men and women.

Siong Yueng Cheah is a Malaysian barefoot runner who is connected to the Barefoot Runners' Society who brings us the good news. He's 34.

"I come from Malaysia and barefoot running it's already quite popular among runners here.
There are few prominent full BF marathon and ultra marathon runners in Malaysia.

"I have been barefooting for 2 years now, and ready for my first full marathon in the coming October," he wrote back in August.

We couldn't find a newer post as of yet, but hopefully, his ran first marathon last month as intended!

We're glad to see barefooting around the globe, and for all of our readers who have stopped by!

BLESSINGS!

Anatomy of a Stride-Barefoot Running Techniques to prevent injuries.

It's funny, British visits to our site dropped since we celebrated their large numbers....Malaysians have taken second place behind the USA and the Germans are nipping at their heels.

Barefoot running continues to enjoy popularity, but many still want to know why.

It's time to introduce Colin Seymour, the "Mostly Barefoot Runner."  He helps us see the science of barefoot running in simple terms by the sites he helped us find.

Colin does his own thing, that's for sure. He started running at 11, finished his first marathon at 18, and subsequently suffered many of the nasty injuries runners typically suffer from wearing typical running shoes and poor running techniques.

He later took to running barefoot and continues to recover. He advocates the POSE running method and connects us to an excellent website that explains the elements of a proper running stride with and excellent narrative video called Anatomy of a Stride.

The POSE Method is worth a good look and should be shared, just like the joys of barefoot running for health!

British barefooters seem to be taking the lead.....

What can I say? I checked readership states yesterday and found almost HALF of our traffic lately has come from across the pond in the United Kingdom. They have finally unseated our German friends from second place in traffic and are threatening to overtake the USA!

Some Americans might be more perturbed, but I say that our oldest ally will help keep us on our toes!

This past September, Brits attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the largest number of barefoot walkers at once in a 3K and 5k walk. The events took place in Nottingham to raise money to buy shoes for impoverished children.

There are a million great reasons to go barefoot...when it is by choice. I can't think of a better one than helping children in need.

The Nottingham Post reported that before this September's event, India was the official record holder for the biggest 3K and 5K barefoot walk with 7,050 participants.

As of right now, I'm still surfing for the answer: did they break the record? We're not sure yet!

We'll keep looking!

Dear British readers: If Brits have broken the record, do tell us!!!

Blessings!

Can you get better abs by going barefoot? Yes.......

It may seem silly to believe that going barefoot can build better abs, but it certainly is possible. Today we look at an ancient exercise that helps build the body from the feet up.

Besides our backs, the feet are the most neglected part of our body in our culture. We also neglect to realize what we can do to make our whole physical health better when we focus on the feet first. After all, in our culture, going "feet first" is a synonym for being dead. It's time to take off our shoes and to wake up and live. What you are about to learn is a first step in building a better body from the feet up. And yes, ultimately, being barefoot can build better abs.

Connect to a Yoga mat. Yoga s one of the oldest surviving athletic activities that is practiced barefoot. True Yoga practice becomes much like practicing a martial art. We use ancient Yogic exercises called Bandhas, or “locks” to release internal stress from the body and allow the muscles to function normally again. To get better abs from being barefoot, you have to do some Yoga.

In the cultures of India and the Far East where Yoga originated, the feet are not regarded as a “lowly” part of a person. In the ancient Yogic traditions, people actually touch the feet of their gurus, and sometimes even kiss them, as a sign of reverence. The leading Yoga magazine Yoga Journal calls the feet the foundation of the body as a temple, as well as the body’s physical foundation. All cultural ideas aside, the feet are indeed the foundation of the body.

Using the Pada Bandha. Pada Bandha means “foot lock” in the Sanskrit language. The Pada Bandha is applied to raise the arch in the sole of the foot while standing. This triggers the leg muscles to tighten gently on the leg bones. The trigger from the arch send the same signal through the pelvis and into the muscle groups that create the “pelvic floor”. They muscle groups support the weight of the abdomen and keep the pelvis from moving too far.

YogaFit Trainer Brett Barnes incorporates the Pada Bandha into the fundamentals of the YogaFit Anatomy classes where he has been training Yoga instructors for many years. He instructs his students to engage to foot lock and subsequently the root lock, or Mula Bandha.

Yoga Instructor Lauren Imparato
Brett Barnes
YogaFit Trainer Brett Barnes
As Lauren Imparato explains on MindBody Green: “In Sanskrit mula means root, and thus Mula Bandha is the root lock. To find it, sit, stand, or even be in an asana, and if you are a man, contract the area between the anus and the testes. If you are a woman, contract the muscles at the bottom of the pelvic floor, behind the cervix. Initially the anal sphincter will also contract, but with time and practice you will be able to hone in on the Mula Bandha region and leave the rest aside.”

The four groups of abdominal muscles are triggered by the same signal from the feet, and they begin to tighten so that the chest lifts and lets the abs work while they remain long-that means you develop them evenly and don’t strain the back. The final phase of the exercise is to engage the Mula Banda, to lock the muscles in the lower, internal abdomen and slightly lift the digestive tract. When the lock is released, the digestive tract relaxes and distress is removed from the interior and the entire body’s stress level is reduced to improve calmness and concentration ability.

So, not only can being barefoot get you better abs, it will make you feel better all over. Using the Bandhas restores the natural length of the abs in the process, so you can develop all of each muscle instead of developing smaller areas that will make your strength, your balance uneven, along with your ultimate well being.

Barefoot in Italy

We salute our Italian readers, and thank them for the fact that our Italian readership is growing along with out international traffic.

Your comments on the barefoot lifestyle, especially in you home country, are always welcome.

We did a quick web search to see what we could find about barefooting in Italy. So far, we haven't found much, sad to say, so there's little to comment on the barefoot lifestyle and how Italians look at it. Since Italians do make some of the best shoes int he world, it may be interesting to hear the perspective.

We did spy actress Kelly Brook going barefoot in Italy this year.

Coolspotter.com

It seems that Kelly loves to go barefoot, seemingly wherever she goes...who can blame her?

Here's Kelly again, barefoot in Italy with her boyfriend, Tom Evans.

Here she is, barefoot again..hey, that's not Tom!   Well, we're only up on barefooting, not Hollywood gossip.

Barefoot Lifestyle-Real Meaning

Going barefoot attracts most who do it because it feels natural. Our cultural norms have insulated us from the natural world in so many ways that when we first take off our shoes, we can't even decipher for ourselves why it feels right to go barefoot. It just does.

Barefoot Lifestyle-keeping it real. Adopting a barefoot life style means different things to different people. There are some who actually do it all the time and somehow manage to be in the working world without penalty, and who never seem to need to use a public bathroom. But beyond this is the idea that a barefoot lifestyle is somehow defining the person who lives it. It becomes a code that can kill the buzz that feeling freedom gave us when we started to go barefoot.

Going barefoot is natural. Going barefoot is healthy. Keep it that way.

Don't make going barefoot such a hard and fast rule. Going barefoot isn't as cut and dry as other principles we cherish. It's never right to be racist, and it's never right to prey on the innocent, but there are legitimate reasons to wear shoes-maybe working in a kitchen, a factory or elsewhere.

This isn't about being "soft" on the idea that barefoot is better. But if we make it a rule that we must go barefoot all the time, then we're binding ourselves to a rule that we give no thought to. In doing so, we become bound to the rule in the same way our culture has always been bound to the idea that we must wear shoes.

So go barefoot when you can, but keep it real. Always.

Blessings!

Best Barefoot Shoes-it just keeps getting better!

We were going to wait until the spring to review these wonderful sandals, it being the end of sandal season. But then again, you might be in a house or a building with a cold floor....oh, well, let's just be honest here.

Stepping out, Almost Barefoot, on the cold pavement. Summer clogs make great fall and winter shoes for barefooters!

We are barefooters. We wear shoes when we must, and wear none when we can. When it's rather cold to go barefoot and most folks will wear boots etc., then that's when we'll likely wear sandals.

So.....I hereby decree that sandal season has been extended....for the whole winter.

Renewal is free, just like membership. Sandals season automatically renews in the spring.

And anyway, spring has just begun in the Southern Hemisphere, so we don't want to be biased.

About summer clogs....................

I had just finished teaching a Yoga class when a student asked me about how to keep her balance as good as it is during Yoga class when she's out and about.

We discussed how the foot spreads out to its natural shape when un-shod. She showed me her new running shoes and said they were ok but not that great. I told her I wear clogs or wide sandals all the time-all the time that I'm not going barefoot.

I showed her my Berlin clogs that I had worn that day and then she mentioned a wonderful shoe she used to wear long ago: Dr. Scholl's sandals.

These shoes are the best! They allow complete, unrestricted movement of the foot and even help you tone your ankles and calves-a must for anyone who wants to live Almost Barefoot. They give you a boost in height, they make noise when you want them to-lots of noise if you're looking for fun, and can give you a bit of authority as you declare your presence.

And they just feel great. It's like being barefoot with your shoes on. Plus, on cool fall days, they go great with jeans

I call them "summer clogs". They were known as "exercise sandals" back in the late 1970s when they were introduced.  They are far more popular in Europe and are worn by men AND women. My beloved USA, my home and my favorite place in the world, does have horribly backward men's fashion, hence the reason you won't find them bigger than a size nine if you are male-the equivalent of a European 42. Guys can wear them with jeans and when I do, I get nothing but compliments.

Luckily for fashion-forward guys who like living Almost Barefoot, our brethren in Germany have us covered, plus, they offer additional options for our sisters worldwide. Thanks again to Berlin Clogs for having these type of sandals in mens' sizes (you can't get Dr. Scholl's bigger than a men's nine).

If you could get these now, would you wait until summer to wear them? They'll get you through to the next barefoot season!

Wooden sandal red
And for all the ladies who would rather be barefoot, you can be Almost Barefoot in these for sure-of course, DR. Scholl's also offers you countless choices!

BLESSINGS!

Good basic barefoot questions

Here are some great questions answered for new barefooters by Chicago-area barefoot runners.

COME AND LEARN TO ENJOY RUNNING WITHOUT SHOES!

Previously considered by many as an "extreme sport", barefoot running (BFR) is now becoming recognized as a more healthful alternative to shod running. Many "joggers" are surprised to learn that BFR is both accessible to the non-elite and enjoyable by the non-masochist!

Commonly asked questions about BFR:

Q: Why would I want to run barefoot?

A: Because you will learn to stop "jogging" (bouncing up & down) and start RUNNING, the smooth gait evolution has designed your body for, mile after injury-free mile.

Q: Will BFR make me a faster runner?

A: You will run slower at first but as proper technique is learned speed will return. BFR's main contribution to speed is keeping you uninjured and running and therefore in high aerobic fitness.

Q: Are "minimalist" shoes such as Vibram Five Fingers an acceptable alternative to BFR?

A: No, not for beginners. The tactile and proprioceptic feedback from your bare soles is critical for the rapid learning of proper movement and muscle memory. VFFs and their ilk are very likely to lead to injury with beginners. After ~six months of true BFR, judicial use of minimalist footwear may be indicated on extreme terrain or in very low temperatures.

Q: What's this Barefoot Running Clinic going to cost me?

A: Nothing.  The cost is zero.  I will never try to sell you anything.

Q: Then why are you doing this?
A: Nothing.  The cost is zero.  I will never try to sell you anything.

Q: Then why are you doing this?

A: My running life has been so transformed by BFR I simply wish to share the joy with as many people as possible. That's it. No other motives.

Q: Are you a running coach?

A: Not by any stretch of the imagination. I have never coached any runners, not even one.

Q: Then what makes you an expert?

A: I have been running almost exclusively BF for more than eleven years, summer and winter. To my knowledge, I have the longest BFR career of anyone in the Chicagoland area.

Q: Great! How do I get started?

A: Sign up for one of my workshops

Barefoot in Boston

I can't deny homesickness that sets in this time of year.

What I wouldn't do to be able to kick through piles of fallen leaves....barefoot or not!  But the cool Earth that's still warm enough for bare feet gives us that awakening we need to feel renewed with the change of each season.

Almost Barefoot salutes Boston area barefooters and their growing event that happens each year in the Hub at the Boston Barefoot Running Festival.  Boston is a birthplace for American freedom. Blessings to the soldiers, some of whom were barefoot in the middle of winter in battle, for giving us our freedom.

And to everyone since then who has made our awesome barefoot lifestyle possible.....

Thank you!

It's ever too early to start planning for next year's festival, just as it's not too late to get some great, barefoot fall runs in!   Contact New England Barefoot Runners for more info about next year's festival!

BAREFOOT CONSTRUCTION WORK???

Almost Barefoot  doesn't make any recommendations for or against....it's your choice whether you do construction barefoot!

But we do share the pictures, thanks to Barefoot Mick Lessard and the Society for Barefoot Living.

Laying this rock was a primal pleasure as it fell into the perfect place at the top of our newly barefoot built stairwell.

Barefooting in the new season

The earth is starting to cool, making barefooting a more significant experience.

By this time, we've come to taking barefooting for granted in summer. It's warm out, so we just do it. Nothing wrong with that!

But with the change of the season, we're invited to feel, once again, the significance we felt when we first took to going sans shoes outdoors.

Feel the cool ground tonight and again tomorrow morning, Savor it and be reborn to your natural connection with the Earth.
